He explains to Lamont that B.B. lost his girl in St. Louis to a guy who wanted to start a business in California. The girl's initials were EW (for Elizabeth Winfield).

Thus, Archie suddenly comes down with a bad case of whiplash and insists on a Jewish lawyer to handle the case.
