Did you know that there was a real Brady Bunch house?

It makes sense that a group as perfect as the Brady family would need a perfect house to spend their days in. Let's be honest; with six children and a live-in housekeeper, Mike and Carol certainly were familiar with having a full house.

Viewers came to familiarize themselves with the Brady house as well as they knew their own home. We can still picture that trademark staircase that all those kids came shuffling down all those years ago.

It turns out that the Brady home actually existed in real life. In an interview, The Brady Bunch's art director, William Campbell, revealed that he actually based the design of the house on his own.

"Mike Brady is an architect, which was once my field," said William Campbell during an interview with the El Paso Herald-Post. "I figured he'd build his house as I did mine."

Even with six children— plus a few animals— the Brady house was certainly fancy living.

"The set is something to see," said Ann B. Davis, who played Alice. "I'm the maid, but I couldn't keep this house clean."

With such a big house and an even bigger cast, Brady Bunch creator Sherwood Schwartz felt that the possibilities for storytelling were unlimited.

"With this many people, we won't be running out of stories," said Schwartz. "Our built-in problem is really two families living in one house."

Perhaps the most important story of all, however, is that of family and unity. "Kids are one of the most wonderful experiences in life," said Henderson, who played Carol Brady. "A little wild and nutty at times, but wonderful."
